Mission Statement:
At Red, White and Boom! of Bloomington, Indiana, our mission is to foster unity, pride, and
community spirit through a free and inclusive Independence Day celebration. We believe
that shared experiences are vital to building stronger, more connected communities.
By creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment for individuals from all walks of life,
regardless of race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, political
aLiliation, or national origin. We strive to establish a lasting tradition that honors our
nation’s independence while promoting civic pride, local engagement, and positive social
connection. Our event reflects the best of American values: freedom, togetherness, and
celebration.
Red, White and Boom! of Bloomington, Indiana began in 2020 as a grassroots response to
the cancellation of Bloomington’s traditional fireworks during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
With no local or state funding, our organization grew from community initiative—and today,
it thrives as a symbol of independence in every sense.
We remain proudly independent of government funding, which ensures we can continue
bringing joy to our city without placing financial strain on local taxpayers or being
vulnerable to budget cuts.

I just wanted to personally say thanks for taking a minute to stop by.
Red, White & Boom! started with a simple question in 2020, when everything shut down and our community was missing something to look forward to: What if we created something for everyone to enjoy…for free…right when people were ready to get back out again?
Not a fundraiser. Not something exclusive. Just something simple, fun, and for the whole community.
I’ll be honest, I had no idea it would turn into what it is today. From day one, that’s been the heartbeat: Always free. Always for the entire family. Always fun.
What started as a response to a difficult season has now become a Bloomington tradition, and we couldn’t be more grateful! Because of our incredible sponsors and a community that keeps showing up, we’re committed to continuing this for years to come.
Moments with friends and family like this matter. Community matters. And celebrating our nation’s independence together still matters.
